  3. Ashchurch’s Diamond Jubilee • Royal Jubilee Day Friday 1st June • We will be celebrating the Royal Jubilee on this day by having a street party in the afternoon. If you have any bunting that you could donate I would be very grateful. Any donations of food for the day would be much appreciated. The children can dress up in Union Jack colours for the day or even come as the Queen, Prince Philip or any member of the Royal family!

  4. ASHCHURCH PRIMARY SCHOOL 170TH CELEBRATION DAY FRIDAY JUNE 29TH This school was built in 1842 and as such is one of the oldest state schools in the Country. We are all obviously very proud of the school and we want to celebrate this anniversary in some style! On Friday June 29th the school will be having a Victorian School Day to act again exactly what would have happened in a school day on June 29th 1842. I would ask you if you could dress the children up in Victorian clothes for the day. (Any problems please get in touch with me). All the teaching and support staff will be in character as well. Children, parents and teachers who have ever attended the school will be invited to our celebration from 3.15pm – 6.30pm on that day. During that time I would ask if you could try and join your children in our celebration. We will be having a large Marquee on the school field in which the children will perform songs, music and drama from the past. There will be a pig roast, drinks and old Victorian fayre games which everyone can participate in eg ‘The Strongest Person’. We will also be unveiling our Art Exhibition in which you can see what the children have achieved in the last 6 months. This will culminate with the raising of our new School Flag on our flagpole which has been designed by one of our children. The whole event is obviously extremely newsworthy and we will have newspapers, radio stations and possible television coverage of the day’s activities. It is going to be a very memorable day. The children will also be planting trees to create a new copse at the bottom of the field in the Autumn term, so that they will all have something to give to the school for the future.
