  1. Risk and Benefits of Pain Relief Drugs

  2. Pain relief drugs have become somewhat a necessity for all us, because at some point we all have use the pain relief drugs to relief us from the unbearable pain. The necessity to use pain relief medicine is due to mainly two causes and that is labour pain and arthritis pain. In this article we are going to discuss about the arthritis pain and the effect of the drug to sooth its pain.

Arthritis pains are hard to bear while working in your daily life. • And to sooth the pain from it doctors can recommends you various pain relief drugs but there are always another side to its effect and it is same with over-the-counter (OTC) arthritis treatment. • So it is important to determine the risk and benefits of the drug before deciding to use them.

  5. One of the most common pain reliever we use is Acetaminophen. It is considered safe for most of the people who can’t take other medicines due to allergies and stomach problem. But its effectiveness might not be same for all people because it only relief pain, not sooth the inflammation.

  6. But you might need a prescription acetaminophen containing opioid when the pain is so severe that an alone acetaminophen doesn’t help. And the side effect will be different for the different types of acetaminophen you will take. If you take non-prescription acetaminophen as the doctors suggested then usually there are no high risks in it.

  7. But if you take overdose of it due to pain then it might damage your liver. As acetaminophen is hidden in many products especially in OTP cough and there product for colds, you need to be careful because it might overdose your daily acetaminophen taking. Prescription-strength acetaminophen combination has various side effects such as constipation, dizziness, vomiting etc which can increase depending on the increasing in the number of dosages.

These effects are due to the codeine, oxycodone etc that are combined with the acetaminophen.  Prescription-strength and non-prescription non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs which are known as NSAIDs are used in the possible lowest dosage when acetaminophens are become ineffective. NSAIDs are real effective against the arthritis pain and inflammation but the side effects are also severe with long term usages.

Use of NSAID often cause upset stomach and this is the reason that the doctors recommend to take them after any meal and the long term use can cause you stomach bleeding and even it can damage your kidney. Acetaminophen or NSAID or other kind of drug which ever you choose to sooth your pain there are always have risks and benefits in both side. But as some medicine have more side effects than others, it is necessary that you don’t try to overuse them.
