Royal Scientific Society “RSS” / The Environment Monitoring & Research Central Unit “EMARCU” • RSS is an independent, not-for-profit NGO, • RSS is engaged mainly in scientific and technological R&D, • RSS provides consultation, training, and various technical support services. • EMARCU is comprised of 13 fully-automated monitoring stations. Its mission is to collect and make available water quality data from a real-time monitoring system (RTMS). The software is a web-based application and can be accessed from anywhere. www.rss.jo www.emarcu.gov.jo

Integrating Jordan into the European Research Area (IJERA) The IJERA project is aiming at: • strengthening capacities of (EMARCU/RSS) while realizing it as an international centre of excellence, and • reinforcing the cooperation capacities and research activities in Jordan’s water sector • facilitating participation in European water research initiatives and inclusion in Euro-Mediterranean Research and Innovation Area.

  4. The European Research Area (ERA) The European Research Area is composed of all research and development activities, programmes and policies in Europe which involve a transnational perspective. Together, they enable researchers, research institutions and businesses to increasingly circulate, compete and co-operate across borders.
