  1. OUR CURRICULUM Our curriculum is broad, designed to meet the needs of all of our pupils, promote excellence and give all of our children as many opportunities as possible to develop and expand their horizons. Support and challenge is at the heart of our teaching. We understand that it is our job to prepare the children for their future in an ever-changing world.

  2. VALUES Our curriculum is based on our values and the context of our school, forming a golden thread which runs through our whole school. We support and challenge our children to develop their own self-worth, self-confidence, resilience, curiosity and to become responsible citizens. Our curriculum has been designed to develop our school values, the Christian Fruit of the Spirit and British Values. Links with specific organisations and events enables the children to understand their place in local, national and global events .

  3. CORE SUBJECTS : ENGLISH AND MATHEMATICS Our creative curriculum ensures that children are taught the skills of reading and writing, numeracy and problem solving through engaging and well-structured lessons. Phonics, spellings ,grammar and mental mathematics are taught systematically throughout the school.

  4. FOUNDATION SUBJECTS Our curriculum combines the Core Subjects with the Foundation Subjects of : Art Humanities Modern Foreign Languages Music Physical Education Relationship Education Religious Education Science, I.C.T. and Design Technology

  5. ART Our Art Curriculum is designed to enable the children to respond creatively to their world around them and to develop an appreciation of different art forms and influential artists.

  6. HUMANITIES Our Humanities Curriculum focuses on both local and global history. Our location provides a wealth of local and global historical and geographical links. Learning is inspired by hands-on, first-hand experiences, including use of our school grounds and visits to Windsor Castle. Residential visits in Year 3 and Year 4 provide first-hand experiences of contrasting environments, develop resilience, team work and make long-lasting memories. Through our Humanities Curriculum, our children are taught to research, compare and contrast, question, analyse and debate .

  7. MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES Our language curriculum is designed to provide language communication skills and a deeper understanding of other cultures. Spanish and Makaton are taught throughout the school. Japanese is taught to Year 2 - Year 4 by a native Japanese teacher. We enrich our curriculum further through our bi-annual International Day in school.

  8. MUSIC Our whole school music curriculum is enhanced by high quality partnerships and experiences. We enrich our music programme of study with expert tuition and opportunities to perform to large audiences through links with St. George’s Chapel, Berkshire Maestros and the Young Voices Choir at the O2, London.

  9. PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM Our P.E. Curriculum has been designed to enable all pupils to be fit and active through a wide range of physical activity. The curriculum has been designed to provide opportunities for all pupils to participate in gymnastics, dance and games, including cricket, tag rugby, football, netball and bench ball. Our participation in the Windsor Sports Partnership provides our children with the range of sporting opportunities often only seen in larger schools. Every year group benefits from expert coaching, participation in tournaments, festivals and competitions with other schools. Our well-resourced school grounds have been designed to promote independent physical activity at play times.

  10. RELATIONSHIP AND HEALTH CURRICULUM Our Relationship and Heath Curriculum has an emphasis on emotional literacy, mental health, spiritual, moral, social, cultural and physical development. We teach children about good physical and mental health, how to stay safe on and offline, and the importance of healthy relationships. Our curriculum aims to prepare children for life, helping them really know and value who they truly are and understand how they relate to other people in this ever-changing world.

  11. Religious Education Our R.E. curriculum teaches the children about a range of religions and faiths. We follow the Oxford Diocesan scheme of work which has Engage, Enquire, Evaluate and Reflectat its heart. Our children are given the opportunity to reflect on what they have learned and consider what difference their learning is making to their thinking and acting.

  12. SCIENCE,DESIGN TECHNOLOGY AND I.C.T. Our Science, Design Technology and I.C.T. curriculum extends the children’s curiosity, knowledge, skills of research, creativity and exploration. With a strong focus on hands-on investigation, our children are taught to research, question, analyse and report, which enables our children to build real skills for real life. Children have access to laptops, I-pads, cameras, programmable robots and a dedicated children’s kitchen.
