2. Photoshop I learnt to use tools such as the lasso tool which allow you to cut around something and place it somewhere else. I used this tool on my front cover to cut around my artist from a separate image and I then placed him on a plain background. For example , this is a small bit of my first draft of my front cover and this shows how the lasso tool has made my work better. It has created clear difference in my artist and the background. It also makes your work very neat.,

3. Before Photoshop On my contents page I learnt to edit my pictures. I enhanced saturation , shadowing and contrast levels which massively improved my magazine as you can see the difference from my draft to my final version. After

4. Photoshop On my double page spread I downloaded a paint brush which when coloured made it look like paint/ink splatters. This made my magazine more colourful, more original and more modern. It worked really well on my double page spread and was easy to do. By overlapping them it built up the colour and made it more realistic and because of this I decided to use it on the final version of my front cover. Here is an example of the background of my double page spread.

5. Indesign Before making my double page spread I was not aware of what Indesign was. It made making a double page spread very easy and helped to make my work structured and neat. It allowed me to use text wrap if needed. It also allowed me to put my article into columns which made my work look more professional and neat. Indesign has been really useful when making my double page spread and was easy to use and understand.

6. Dafont.com Dafont is a website full of fun and different fonts to use. This made my work more original and attractive. It was better to download fun fitted fonts than to use the standard Arial or Times New Roman as it makes it more like a magazine to a plain basic one. 7. Camera & Lighting Without a good camera and appropriate lighting I wouldn’t have created the images I have. I used setting I did not even know existed. I used a Casio Exlim EX-Z8. Lighting wise I used natural lighting and two point lighting which was key light and fill light.

8. Apple Macs I would not have been able to do any of this work without the use of the schools apple Mac computers. They are very clever computers and easy to use. We are lucky that our school has Photoshop, and Indesign because this made all the most professional parts of my work easy to do and the fact that these were made available to me has helped a lot.

9. I think that out of all the things I learnt and used this was the most useful. Before studying media I was not aware of WordPress or how blogs worked. Using it has made me more knowledgeable of blogging and I really enjoyed using it. You can do whatever you want on it and make it your own. It so easy to use and the presentation of it is really attractive. Making posts was easy and it was even easier to add in links, files and images into them.

10. Overall I think that overall the technologies have made a massive impact on my work because they have made it easy to plan and produce my very own magazine. It has made me aware of just how easy it is in this current day and age of how the audience can become the producer. Young people are becoming more and more knowledgeable with technologies and I feel that making a magazine has made me more knowledgeable with technologies too. Technology has changed so much since previous years and it makes work get better and better. I have learnt so much from doing this magazine because from the first (College Magazine) to my music one you can see the change within them few months and how a bit of knowledge can automatically have a huge impact on the level of my work.
