  2. (1) VFE tests on A-side • Digital test (LVDS phase, VFE reset, DACS/ASICs R/W): • OK on 49 VFEs • 8T01/8TOU/S070: status register errors. Check LV, GND and CB. • LVDS test (BER) : • Random pattern • Status OK on all data links (between VFE and FE). • Problems: • LVDS test bit on VFE is writen and test stopsfor VFE while CAT is on... • Communication breakdown in the middle of a test. SPECS needs to be restarted. Observed mostly on some channels of CB at PRS4 i PRS5. • Offset measurements: • Done for all VFEs. • Review GND PRS5 CB2 ch4. Maybe GND could be better. • Threshold values are 9 sigma from offset (or pedestal). • Recipes prepared and under use for LED measurements. Calo Comissioning Meeting

(1) VFE tests on A-side • LED measurements: • The measurements are done using CAT and taking just a few triggers. • HV = 700V (approx. the one expected to be applied for physics) • Problems found: • Very hot channels: • PRS5CB16ch4/6T04/S092: saturation on ch56. Hot on ch 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. • PRS6CB5ch6/5T01/S051: saturation on ch 53 and 54. Very hot on ch 61 • PRS6CB16ch2/6T01/S034: saturation on ch 20 and 36. Other very hot channels. • PRS6CB16ch3/6T03/S035: ch 7 and 8 very hot. • Trigger problems: for SPD 5-4 and SPD 8-3 trigger cables no data havs been seen except on a few triggers. • Only the Vled can be tuned in order to have signal on all channels. All Vled are applied corresponding to groups of VFEs that not necessarily need the same Vled. There is an important difference between SM5 inner and middle that would lead to loose 4 VFEs LED signal if flashed toghether (4x64 channels). Will all channels be flashed toghether? Will it be necessary to flash in groups and change Vled? • Mapping: we are investigating the mapping to correct channel problems and to verify it. Just started today: full top, half to data!   5. (3) Issues • SPD A-Side movement: • Lead problem • Open end too far • Scaffolding access: • Top floor is loose • Check with Cedric tomorrow Calo Comissioning Meeting

  6. (4) Plans • Plans: • This is the last acces to A-side. • Understand all CAT problems. • Access and repair the 2 VFE. • Solve as LED problems as possible • Check mapping configurations • Calibrate temperatures probes. • Try to synchronize CB, FE, VTB, CROC... Calo Comissioning Meeting
