Young Masters Programme (YMP) • Empowering young people everywhere to build a sustainable future • Global web-based education and learning network for ESD • Free of charge for schools, teachers and students • Designed for students between 16-18 years and their teachers • 113 countries and 25 000 students since start • All course material in English with built-in narration and glossary • Promoting local activities and international networks • Course duration18 weeks, plus voluntary project work

Strategies of the YMP • Education (Learning) – knowledge and understanding, constantly re-connecting to local experiences. • Connections (Connecting) – networking, creativity, leadership, inspiration and meaningful context (”being part of something big”) • Action (Doing) – learning through doing and getting instant feedback on actions • Countries with a diversity of cultures, backgrounds, and educations

  4. In the Pipeline • “Education for Strong Sustainability and Agency” (ESSA) – partnership between SADEC REEP and SWEDESD • Objective: Mainstreaming ESD into teacher education • “The Parts and the Whole” - Teacher education manual and book of learners activities • Content to be applied to same technical platform as the YMP • Aim to start second phase of project by end of 2013
