  5. Resident’s Electric Meters Where is it being installed? This condo’s garages are separate from the residences. The electrical service in the separate garages is metered to and paid by the Home Owners Association not the resident. Charging an electric vehicle EV would create more than incidental electric usage. Therefore the resident with the EV needs to install a separate electric line from the Resident’s meter on the Condo Building to the Resident’s garage. 24 Feet Condo Building with multiple residential units 115 Feet New under ground electric line from Resident’s Meter to Resident’s garage for Electric Vehicle charging 5 Garages in this bldg.

  6. How will the wire be run from the meter to the garage? • Electrician will subcontract with a company that provides underground horizontal directional boring services. A machine like this may be used. To see a video of the horizontal directional boring process please click or go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ64MvfJfkw

  7. What about existing underground items? • Utilities will be located and marked prior to any digging or horizontal directional boring. Electrician will contact Iowa One Call to have all underground items located between the meters and the garage. Our underground items will be marked so they can be avoided during the boring process.

  8. What about insurance? • Electrician and its subcontractors carry insurance. What about damage to the grass? • Damage to our lawn will be minimized by the use of horizontal directional boring instead of trenching. • Your Name Here will be responsible for seeding and watering to restore the lawn to its original condition.

  9. What visible exterior elements are there? The small, grey conduit will be the only visible exterior element on the garage. This will be at the back of garage number 3.

  10. Thank you for taking time to consider my request to install separate electrical service in my garage. I am deeply committed to the environment, which is why I bought a vehicle that can run on electricity. I would ask that you please approve my request to allow me to install this service. • It will not cost you anything • It will enhance the value of the garage • What will be visible outside is minor and already exists at other garages • The process will be performed safely and professionally For questions or comments please contact: Your Name Here (Your) Phone-number Your email@ddress here
