  3. Structure • Card from the examiner • 5-6 questions – study for 1 minute • Talk for about 1 ½ minutes - 2 minutes

  5. Critical Thinking • Ask the questions • What? – Role model – someone that we look up to – father/mother, etc. • Why? Give reasons why he/she your role model e.g. he is honest, honorable, open-minded, educated, etc. • How? Give examples i.e. he is like a friend to me, he supports my good decisions, etc.

  6. If Person Card • 1) Appearance – What they look like • 2) Personality – Adjectives: e.g. funny, honest, strict, kind, etc. • 3) Actions – What they do to support personality. E.g. helped me with something. They made me laugh so hard.

  7. If Object Card • 1) Appearance small, black, etc. • 2) Function. I use it to chat with my friends, to call people, to listen to music, etc. • 3) Importance: As a university student, my laptop helps me get my work done easily and quickly, etc.

  8. If Event Card • 1) Type – e.g. Wedding, Meeting, etc. • 2) People involved • 3) Purpose of event • 4) The activities in that event

  9. If Place Card • 1) Appearance • 2) Any Information you know about the place • 3) Why people go there?

  10. Important Notes! • Be descriptive (use adjectives/ Adjective clauses) • Practice the 1 minute preparation to answer • Practice the 1-2 minute speaking at home • Always remember to answer ALL the questions on the card. Especially the last.

  11. Let’s Practice! • Role play the two Cards with a partner
