  2. INTRODUCTION ❖ Most countries have a tax system to support many national needs. ❖ So tax feature is a must-have in every accounting system. ❖ In Odoo 13 we are able to create tax and tax structure. ❖ Also, we can create tax groups for different purposes.

  3. Odoo's tax engine is very flexible and support many different type of taxes: value added taxes (VAT), eco-taxes, federal taxes, retention, withholding taxes, etc. ❖ For most countries, the chart of account you setup is automatically pre-configured with the main taxes of the country. ❖ One can create a new tax by clicking CREATE AND EDIT BUTTON

  4. In Odoo we are able to set default taxes. We can set it for, > Product > Account > Company ❖ If we set default tax for all the three, for the product, for the account, and for company, the first priority will be gone to ‘Product’, second priority will be for ‘Account’ and the least priority for the ‘Company’.

  5. For that Goto Invoicing -> Taxes

  6. These are the available taxes by odoo localization.

  7. ❖ We can also create our own taxes in odoo for that click Create button

  8. Under the Advanced Options Provide the details -> Save

  9. After creating tax Goto Invoicing -> Create -> Add product and select newly created tax .

  10. ❖ ❖ For set default tax for company : Goto Invoicing ->Settings -> Set default sales & purchase taxes. ->Save

  11. Then create a new product ->The customer Taxes will automatically get filled, And also we can change customer tax for the product

  12. Created a new product with customer tax - New tax 10% .And we already set default tax for the company.

  13. ❖ ❖ Create a sale order with newly created product we can see that the Taxes filled by product tax instead of company default tax

  14. Here now clearing the customer tax for the product.

  15. Now goto configuration -> Chart of accounts -> Set default tax for account

  16. Now under the Accounting tab set Income account for product -> Save

  17. Goto Invoicing -> Create customer Invoice -> Select product -> Taxes filled with account tax instead of company default tax
