Agenda • Be reminded of goals of the grant • Participate in a team builder • Examine our attitudes about writing instruction and how they relate to the NCTE Beliefs about Writing • Analyze current attitudes and practices in Monett by examining survey results and focus group summaries • Prepare preliminary list of PD topics • Set date/s for summer planning • Review professional development calendar

Goals of the i3 Grant • Increasing the amount of time spent on writing instruction and in the number of extended writing assignments • Increasing the use of research-based instructional strategies for teaching writing in ELA classrooms • Increasing the use of writing-to-learn strategies in other disciplines • Improving the quality of writing assignments and increasing their alignment with college- and career-ready standards
