  4. General Presentation _____________________________ Staff 2007 - 2008  34 Doctors (professors-researchers)  technical staff : 7  36 PhD students, 6 « ATER », 2 Post-Doc And also : - about 11 Master-2 students (Master of science), - always a few visiting researchers.

  5. General Presentation _____________________________ LMDC is an university research laboratory in the field of material science in civil engineering. • Multidisciplinary research. • Expertise domain includes : - New materials (innovative materials and eco-materials), - Ageing and durability of the building materials, - Service life of structures or civil engineering works • (non destructive diagnosis, maintenance, • reassessment of service ability) Both levels : Experimental, and theoretical including numerical.

  6. Research Organization _____________________________ The scientific activity is organized in four clusters including two transversal axes as follows. Cluster 1: Development, characterization and behaviour of civil engineering materials Cluster 2: Physico-chemical evolution, and durability of materials Cluster 3: Mechanical behaviour of materials in construction works Cluster 4 Diagnosis and maintenance of construction works Transversal axes : - Reliability and modelling - Durable development and construction materials
