Committee Goals • To create a clear vision for FCA SSM.. • To develop and oversee the implementation of plans of FCA SSM to enhance the FCA initiatives. • To provide input concerning FCA SSM (decisions that will impact the direction of FCA SSM. • To provide input on the existing and future staff structure of SSM Staff. • To evaluate the effectiveness of FCA SSM in meeting the needs of the ministry.

  10. Twofold purpose: • Impact a specific sports community for Christ. • Utilize Sport-Specific Ministry Programs for the growth of FCA across the United States.

  11. Strategy The need today is even greater to reach athletes and coaches different ways. A study shows that 41 million youth ages 6-18 participated in organized youth sports and just over 7 million participated in high school sports.  Praise God that last year FCA reached 1.3 million athletes & coaches! How can we reach more athletes and coaches for Christ? Our goal is to have 12 Sport-Specific Ministries in the next five years so that we can better reach the 34 million athletes that we can not reach through our other ministries. (Source: National Council of Youth Sports Membership Survey 2005, and the National Federation of State High School Associations, 2004-05)

  12. StrategySSM Staff growing the 4Cs FCA has been reaching athletes using Sport-Specific Ministry for 52 years. How do we best equip volunteers to reach there geographic & sports community? FCA Sport-Specific focus on the development of the 4Cs. FCA Field Staff & Sport-Specific Staff partner together to grow the 4Cs. Completing not competing a comprehensive ministry.

  13. StrategySpecialization Sports are specializing. FCA is specializing. Ministry Programs are being designed to meet the specific needs of Athletes and Coaches. CHAD – 4 C’S Huddles = Campus Ministry = Team Bible Studies Chapel Program OW2P Assemblies Special Events FCA Staff are specializing. Staff positions are being designed to best fit the passions of FCA Staff and the needs of today’s athletes and coaches. Field Representative = Campus Chaplains Sport-Specific Staff 4 C’s Staff Development

  18. Staffing Funding 190 Lacrosse Ministry Donors who have given more than $1000 in one year. More funding is available as our staff become more specialized. ie - Chaplains

Present to SSM Leadership Board 5. Cast Vision & Execute Project 6. Staff evaluate and analyze feedback 7. Evaluation by Event Participant, SSM Leadership Board & Local FCA Staff. 8. Complete Ministry Impact Report 9. If appropriate submit contact information of participants to Local Field Staff.

Quarter 1March – May 2007 • Invest in Relationships with Existing SSM Staff & Leadership Boards • Evaluate SWOT of Current SSM Staff • Identify Sport Passions of Current FCA Staff • Assemble SSM Advisory Committee • Define Ministry Flow of SSM • SSM Training for Leadership Meetings • Establish process for starting new SSM. • Work with Atlanta FCA on pilot testing of local SSM Staff. • Research potential SSM.

Quarter 2June – August 2007 • SSM Brochure for Field Staff • Begin Development of Sample Ministry Templates • Visit SSM Ministry Programs & Summer Events • Develop Template for Contact Information Sharing • Develop Annual Report for SSM • Work with Atlanta FCA on pilot testing of local SSM Staff. • Create plans for potential New SSMs.

  23. Quarter 3September - November • Research new potential SSM. • Attend Regional Meetings to cast vision and clarity of SSM. • Work with Dave Kubal on SSM’s role in FCA Institute. • Coordinate Annual SSM Staff ED Director Training Meetings • Work with SSM on the Development of SSM Ministry Templates. • Work with Atlanta FCA on pilot testing of local SSM Staff. Quarter 4 - TBD
