Getting Started/Important Announcements • Scholarship student referrals forms and letter of recommendations- get them done EARLY • Deadline for scholarship application is Friday, March 15th at 11:59pm • FAFSA- Get it done! Next FAFSA Night is Tuesday, February 12th 3:30pm-7:30pm in the Student services office. Sign-up in student services. • Amazon gift card eligibility for any student who has completed their FAFSA by Thursday, February 28th. Students are randomly selected to win $50 or $25 gift cards! • Sign-up for the REMIND APP to receive notifications via text message • Hiring opportunities at Hy-Vee for students- sign-up through adaptive scheduler • MCC Connections Scholarships • https://eicc.edu/connections Level 1 – Half tuition scholarship for your first two semesters with EICC after high school graduation Criteria: 3.0 EICC College GPA with a minimum of 12 college credits earned Level 2 – One free three-credit class each semester for your first two semesters with EICC after high school graduation Criteria: 2.5 EICC College GPA - must have minimum of six college credits earned Level 3 – One free three-credit class for your first semester with EICC after high school graduation Criteria: 2.5 EICC College GPA - must have up to six college credits earned

  3. Scholarship Information There are over 100 scholarships available You only need to complete ONE application Scholarships eligibility is based on the information on your application such as G.P.A, ACT score, class rank, college major etc.

  4. Instructions Go to https://www.muscatinecommunityfoundation.org/scholarships/ (May need to copy and paste link) To see a complete list of the scholarships click on “2019 MHS Scholarship List” Click on “MHS Application”

  5. Instructions Click on “Muscatine H.S. General Scholarships” then on the next page click “Apply” You can also apply for MCC scholarships through this portal

  6. Creating an Account You will all be creating a new account since you are new applicants

  7. The Application Complete each tab to 100%- that improves your odds of scholarship eligibility

  8. Scholarship Eligibility The scholarship list updates itself with each tab you complete Can click “Update List” to refresh it Can also select additional scholarships to be considered for on the 2nd part

Scholarships that require Letters of Recommendation BietzFoundation Scholarship -Requires 2 Educational Trust Reference Forms Bishop Education Trust - Requires 2 Educational Trust Reference Forms Michel's Educational Trust Scholarship - Requires 2 Educational Trust Reference Forms Muscatine Soccer Club Scholarship - Requires 3 Specific Referral Forms - 1 from a MHS teacher, 1 from a coach and 1 other reference Jim and Arlene Kaeding Scholarship - Requires 2 Letter of Recommendations from MHS teachers or coaches Steven Luth Memorial Scholarship - Requires 1 Letter of Recommendation from the student's Pastor or clergy The REQUEST tab is where the letter of recommendations will self-populate if you are eligible for any of the above scholarships. The “Student Rating Forms” can also be found in the REQUEST tab

  10. REQUEST TAB Once you click on the Student Rating Form, the below box populates and you can send an email to the person you are asking a request from (let the people know ahead of time if you are requesting them to submit the student rating form)

Needed Items Junior and Senior year class list ACT scores (can use the highest scores) **if you have not done the ACT you can put N/A Class rank Simple (unweighted) GPA- you should have access to this in your PowerSchool Weighted GPA Number of graduating seniors is 312 School cost per year that you are planning to attend- usually can be found in the Admission page

  12. Needed Information Continued You will need to upload a copy of your parents 2017 tax returns or Student Aid Report (SAR) Login into your FAFSA account to access your SAR report (see the below image), click on “view or print your student aid report (SAR)
