  1. IELTS Exam in Sri Lanka The IELTS exam is one of the most popular English exams taken by students in Sri Lanka. The IELTS, or International English Language Testing System, is an internationally recognized test that evaluates a person's ability to use and understand the English language. The IELTS exam is divided into two parts: the academic exam and the general training exam. The academic exam is for students who want to study at a university, while the general training exam is for students who want to work, train, or study at a lower level. The IELTS exam is taken by over two million people each year, and is offered in more than 140 countries. In Sri Lanka, the IELTS exam is offered at British Council Sri Lanka, IDP IELTS Sri Lanka, and IELTS Sri Lanka. The IELTS Exam in Sri Lanka is divided into four sections: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Each section is worth a total of 25 points, and the total score is out of 100. The IELTS exam is graded on a 9- band scale, with 9 being the highest score and 1 being the lowest score. The listening section of the IELTS exam is 30 minutes long, and contains 40 questions. The questions are divided into four sections, each with 10 questions. The sections get progressively more difficult, and the questions in each section are based on a conversation or a monologue. The reading section of the IELTS exam is 60 minutes long, and contains 40 questions. The questions are divided into three sections, each with 20 questions.
