  1. A Clockwork Orange Claudene.O

  2. How does society change? • Before Alex is arrested the society is aware that there are several young hooligans that are up to no good. With Alex and his friends being careless nobody is safe. Alex being the more outspoken one led the pack in most of the trouble and harm they . • Not only is it Alex and his friends that are up to no good but there are other groups that cause trouble as well. In one part of the book the boys run into Billy Boy and his friends and end up fighting each other that leaves some very injured.

  3. Alex is also very manipulative before he goes to rob somebody's house, he lures the house owners into letting him in because he is in desperate need and needs a phone. When somebody finally didn’t let him in he still found a way to get it. • “help, madam, please. My friend has just had a funny turn on the street. Let me phone a doctor please.”(p.48) • “go away, I know your dirty tricks, making me open the door and then buy things I don’t want.”(p.48) • Him trying to be manipulative towards an elder shows that he truly does not have respect for any. • Law enforcement also takes their time to finally arrest Alex seeing how he has been the one named for many attacks. He even has a man by the name of P.R. Deltoid who works in the enforcement give him a warning that the next time he causes trouble he will be arrested. Alex does not take that into account.

  4. After he comes out of prison, the law enforcement has improved. • When Alex arrives home he expects to see everything how it was. But arriving there he sees a strange man who he later finds out is renting out his old room. He then discovers all his things have been taken away to help the victims of Alex. • Even in the society Alex is unable to lash out whenever he feels irritated or angry. • “I could feel myself growing all razdraz within, but I had to watch that, so I like smiled at the veck who had taken over Andy’s place.”(p.110) • Alex realizes he has gone through treatment and can’t get mad at the guy for not playing his symphony. • Alex ends up going back to his old self after jumping out a window. But he isn’t as thrilled with violence as he used to be. • After bumping into his old friend Pete who is married and has a kid, he realizes he is no longer a kid, he’s growing up.

  5. How has the government influenced changed. • After being released from prison for killing an inmate, Alex is sent to a hospital where he will stay for two weeks. While he is there he has to watch movies that show violence and receive injections everyday. • The fact that he becomes sick and outraged after watching each movie shows that the government has a plan to make him non-violent. • The two week treatment has made Alex to be a good guy. Any thought of violence he becomes sick and does something good instead. One test they did without wires is make him watch a movie where Jews are being gassed and he becomes sick realizing it was not the wires that made him sick.

  6. Alex’s old friend Dim and another troublesome boy Billyboy have become police officers. Which is a bit shocking seeing as how they all caused trouble. This kind of shows that while Alex was gone some people chose change and chose to take the right path. • The law enforcement seems to be much more strict than they were before Alex went to prison.
