Curriculum Physical Education • Taught thematically key concepts that translate across themes. e.g. creating space, athletic position, body tension, rotation, weight transfer • Invasion Games – netball, tag rugby, football • Net and Wall Games – volleyball, tennis • Gymnastic Activities - trampoline, artistic • Dance – cultural dance, modern dance, traditional • Athletic Activities – athletics, fitness • Outdoor and Adventurous Activities – D of E

  5. Curriculum Physical Education • Underpinned by health and fitness • Long term aim physical literacy a lifelong love of physical activity and sport

Extra Curricular Sport and Physical Activity • Inclusive, non selective • Warm encouraging • Often there is a mixture of year groups • Only activity that is selective is teams eg netball, athletics • Range of activities – netball, indoor athletics, fitness, volleyball, badminton, football, cricket, rounders, korfball which are linked to curriculum PE.

  7. Community • Sports Leaders Award • Links with Haringey Sports Development and community clubs • Sport Tours • Festivals and tournaments • Links with sport National Governing Bodies
