  2. Who is Arthur Miller? • Arthur Miller is an American Playwright, born in NYC in 1915. • He is best known for his play, Death of a Salesman. • Miller was one of the best known American Playwright’s after World War II. • Married a Catholic women in 1940, after he divorced Marilyn Monroe.

  3. He is also very well known for his marriage to Marilyn Monroe. • He is the son of a women’s clothing company, owner.

  4. When • He was born in 1915 and passed away in 2005. • Arthur graduated high school in 1932, but he was working at a warehouse to earn money for college. • He went to University Of Michigan in 1934 to study journalism. • 1938, Miller returned to NY and graduated in English.

  5. 1940 , Miller was married to Mary Slattery. • They had 2 children. • Miller first play was THE MAN WHO HAD ALL THE LUCK(1944) • 1944- screenplay (THE STORY OF GI JOE) • Millers first novel (1945) it was about anti-Semitism • (1949) DEATH OF A SALESMAN brought him fame

  6. Where: Arthur Miller was born in New York City on October 17, 1915. He attended the University of Michigan. After writing many different writings, he went to New jersey and produced “The Man Who Had All the Luck.”

  7. Continued… Miller continued to do more work and built a small studio in Roxbury, Connecticut. He traveled to Salem, Massachusetts to research. He was interested in the “witch trials of 1692 and The Crucible.”
