  4. LEARNING OBJECTIVES • Learn about Rotary training meetings, their purposes, and recommended time frames. • Know which training meetings are held in your district and when. • Understand your role as a training leader.

  5. DISTRICT TRAINING EVENTS

  6. Ensure that participants learn. Follow the training plan for the session. Follow up on unanswered questions. Get permission from training committee for new handouts. TRAINER ROLE AT THE MEETING

  7. SESSION 2 TRAINING ROTARIANS

  8. Understand the characteristics of an adult learner. List the ways that adults best retain information. Understand how to use different training methods. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  9. Realistic Practical Experienced Unique Busy QUALITIES OF ADULT LEARNERS

  10. Adults retain information that is Interesting Applicable to their daily lives Reinforced with interactive activities ADULT LEARNER UNDERSTANDING

  11. SESSION 3 FACILITATED LEARNING

  12. Describe the characteristics of a good facilitator. Explain different techniques used in facilitated discussion. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  13. Explores critical issues through questioning Creates a safe environment for participation Keeps group focused and on schedule Neutralizes negative behavior Projects a positive image A GOOD FACILITATOR
