1. Glengowan PTA Newsletter Christmas 2010 Thanks to all those who took part in our Glengowan Lotto. Winners will be notified by the PTA and names will be published on the new school website. The PTA will be arranging a Christmas Prize Draw. The star prize is £100 East Kilbride shopping voucher. All families will shortly be issued with 5 tickets priced at £1 each. The completed ticket stubs and money should be returned to the school by Wednesday 15th December. The draw will be made following the P1-3 nativity play on Tuesday 21st December and winners notified directly. Due to our success last year, we are again holding our Christmas Jingle competition. Children are asked to bring any spare change into school between Wednesday 1st December and Friday 17th December. Each child can vote which member of staff they would like to vote for by placing their money in their chosen jar. On Monday 20th December the staff member with the most money in their jar will perform a forfeit to all pupils. All money raised will go to PTA funds. Please support this event by saving your loose change during this period. Thank you to Mrs Lees and Mrs Telfer for agreeing to take part in this. We are still waiting for a third “volunteer” to take part. We have arranged Bag Packing between 10am and 12noon at Co-op in Larkhall on Sat 27th November. If you can spare an hour or more to help us on the day please contact the school office with your details or speak to a PTA member. Tea Towels The PTA have arranged a school tea towel this year - a great Christmas pressie for grannies and aunties! Each child and staff member has drawn a self portrait which has been transferred onto a teatowel and will be sold for PTA funds. Due to the number of pupils, 2 teatowels have been produced - one for all pupils in P1 to P4 and another for all pupils in P5 to P7. If you would like to pre-order these, please complete the order form below and submit the form and payment to the school office by Friday 10th December. These are priced at £4 each, or 3 for £10 (the 3 can be split between the P1 - P4 and P5 - P7 if required!) These will be delivered to your child in class w/c 13th December. The towels will also be available for sale at the P1 - P3 nativity plays and from the school office after 10th December, subject to availability. The PTA would like to thank everyone for their support in 2010 and wish all pupils, parents and teachers a very merry Christmas and best wishes for 2011.
