  2. Klingstone 400 is a single component liquid designed to stabilize soils for foot traffic and light vehicular traffic. It is being used for wheelchair access on natural pathways and in the golf course industry for natural cart paths.

  3. KLINGSTONE 400Cart Path Stabilization The following application was performed on a high maintenance path with a steep incline. The path was covered with small stone that “moved” easily and often. Additionally, the path presented an on-going safety hazard due to the slope and the golf cart’s tendency to slide. The path was treated in approximately three (3) hours with three (3) laborers. Coverage yield - 12 sq.ft. per gallon.

  15. NEW Procedure Since the laying of trails at Laurel Ridge and Williamsburg, we have begun using a new procedure for creating beautiful, strong and long-lasting trail surfaces.

  16. Preparation A sod cutter was used to block the dimensions of the pathway and applied a light layer of sand to absorb moisture from the base due to excessive rains.

  17. Equipment Dennis and the Poly-mixer Transfer Pump A transfer pump was used to administer the proper amount of liquid polyurethane (Klingstone 400) with the modified 8’s aggregate into a poly-mixer, then the mix was blended and dumped onto the trail.

  18. Raking The mixture was then raked into place at the proper depth.

  19. Vibraplate Next, a vibraplate was used to compact the mixture.

  20. The pathway was allowed to cure for twenty-four hours before opening it up to foot and wheelchair traffic.

  21. Finished Product The staff at Booker T. Washington National Monument are pleased with the results and plan to do more projects using Klingstone in the future.
