Concomitant use of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)-antagonists such as Amantadine, Ketamine or Dextromethorphan should be avoided. Alzheimer's disease has been associated with depression and thoughts of suicide. All mentions of suicide or violence by a patient must be taken seriously. 14. Admenta Tablets (Generic Memantine Hydrochloride Tablets) Overdose In the event of accidental Memantine overdose, no life-threatening clinical signs and symptoms are expected. The toxic effects observed in early single-dose toxicity studies in animals were consistent with acute, high-dose NMDA receptor-blockage and included ataxia, tremor, prone position, bradypnoea, and amnesia. Signs and symptoms most often accompanying Memantine Hydrochloride tablets overdosage during clinical trials and from worldwide marketing experience, alone or in combination with other medicines and/or alcohol, include agitation, asthenia, bradycardia, confusion, coma, dizziness, ECG changes, increased blood pressure, lethargy, loss of consciousness, psychosis, restlessness, slowed movement, somnolence, stupor, unsteady gait, visual hallucinations, vertigo, vomiting, and weakness. 15. Admenta Tablets (Generic Memantine Hydrochloride Tablets) Overdose The largest known ingestion of Memantine worldwide was 2.0 grams in a patient who took Memantine in conjunction with unspecified antidiabetic medications. The patient experienced coma, diplopia, and agitation, but subsequently recovered. In another case of suicidal overdose the patient survived the intake of up to 400 mg Memantine showing central nervous effects (e.g. restlessness, psychosis, visual hallucinations, proconvulsiveness, somnolence, stupor and unconsciousness) which resolved without permanent sequelae. Fatal outcome has been very rarely reported with Memantine, and the relationship to Memantine was unclear. In the event of overdose, general supportive measures should be utilized, and treatment must be symptomatic. Elimination of Memantine can be increased by acidification of urine. © Clearsky Pharmacy ( www.clearskypharmacy.biz )

  16. Admenta Tablets (Generic Memantine Hydrochloride Tablets) Admenta Tablets During Pregnancy Memantine Hydrochloride (Admenta Tablets) is classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category B. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of Memantine Hydrochloride tablets in pregnant women. Animal studies indicate a potential for reducing intrauterine growth at exposure levels, which are identical or slightly higher than at human exposure. The potential risk for humans is unknown. Admenta should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
