Public Access Phase III - Overview • Scope and Charter • Develop White Papers (Deployment Guidelines) to address latest standards affecting Wi-Fi public access and roaming (e.g., WPA) • Create a Market Requirements Document (MRD), for public access certification, to be turned into a WFA test plan • Share and obtain feedback on White Papers and MRD with other groups through liaisons

Problems / Issues to be addressed • Unique requirements for Public Access & technologies/standards available to improve security, roaming and ease of use for public access • Deployment Guideline for WPA in Public Access • For Authentication and address security issues (such as Mutual Authentication) • Co-existence (migration path) with UAM • Case Studies with Service Providers • Why WPA is important: Fraud Prevention, Accurate Billing • MRD for Public Access Certification • Standardized common set of AAA attributes • Compatibility with roaming and settlement standards(GSMA, 3GPP2, IPDR) • Support / Compatibility with Applications (e.g., VPN)
