  2. JOYful Reasons to Say “Yes” to Missions • #1 – Jesus • We have been authorized by Jesus Christ to “go and make disciples.” • Missions is close to the center of God’s heart. • “God so loved the world that He gave…” and it is also the reason that He sends.

  3. To be captured by a passion for missions is to capture the heart of God.

  4. JOYful Reasons to Say “Yes” to Missions • #2 Others • 2/3 of the world lives below our poverty line. • God promised to meet all of our needs and He we can be channels of His material and spiritual provisions.

Muslim Converts to Christ • Afghanistan – before 9-11 only 17; today over 10,000 and growing • Ubekstan – none known prior to 1990; today more than 30,000 • Iraq – more than 70,000 since the Iraq war, 50,000 while refugees in Jordan • Kazakhstan – Only 3 under the Soviet Union; today more than 15,000

In 2005, sold 600,000 Jesus Film and 750,000 Bible on tape in Arabic • Iran – 500 under the Ayatollah Khomenini; today over 1 million • Sudan – more than 1 million since 2001, more than 5 million since the early 1990s

  9. JOYful Reasons to Say “Yes” to Missions • #3 Yourself • Going in the power of the Holy Spirit will change your life! • You will experience His power. • You will accomplish things in Jesus name that you never thought you were capable of. • You will capture the heart of God.

  10. Who CAN’T go on a mission trip? • Those who are in prison. • Those who can’t walk.

  11. What does it take to go? • A willing heart • Prayer and financial support • A desire to make a difference for the Kingdom of God • Empowerment by the Holy Spirit

  12. To be captured by a passion for missions is to capture the heart of God.
