  2. (1) American or Neotropical Rain Forest • Amazon and Orinocobasin • Andes on the Pacific coasts of Ecuador and Colombia extending northwards through middle America as far as Veracruz in Southernwest Mexico (190 N) • Atlantic coast of Brazil, extending to the vacinityof Rio de Janeiro (230 S)

  3. (2) Equatorial zone in Central and Western Africa, extending south of the tropic of capricorn in Eastern Africa and Madagascar (3) Western India and Ceylon

  4. (4) Malayan region from where they range northwards to the Himalayan, northeast to Indo-China and the Philippines, and south and east through much of Indonesia and New Guinea to Fiji and adjacent archipelagos of the western Pacific, with an intermitten extension in eastern Australia well south of the Tropic Capricorn

Forest Formation of Tropical Rain Forest • Forest formation is recognized by a particular combination of vegetation structure and physiogromy regardless of flora • Forest formation can be grouped based upon the main physical characteristic of their habitat. In the case of TRF the name of formation reflect site and the structure and physiogromy of the formation
