AIRE Progress • FY 2009 Focus: Expand the Partnership • Charleston, SC (CHS) CDA demo with DOD • Nav Portugal participation in Oceanic demo in May • European Partners for Oceanic and TA demos • FY 2010 Focus: Gate-to-Gate • Collaboration on TA/CDA demo at Miami (MIA) • Early collaboration on Oceanic/TA demo at MIA

  5. Oceanic Domain • First demonstrations in North Atlantic concluded in May with Air Europa • Initial results promising • Next demonstrations scheduled in the fall • Planning FY-09 demonstration of an automated decision support tool • Initiated collaboration for Oceanic and Arrival demonstration

  6. Surface Domain • Surface Decision Support Systems (SDSS) installed at New York (JFK) and Memphis (MEM), June 2008 • Anticipate enhanced surveillance information available to users and ATC by September 2008 • Planning six months of data collection • Report of results early 2009 • Selecting additional airports for SDSS

Arrival Domain, Continuous Descent Arrival (CDA) • Demonstrations at Atlanta (ATL) and Miami (MIA) completed in May 2008 • Initial results promising • FAA decision made to extend CDA implementation in the NAS • Establishing CDA implementation priorities at 600 commercial airports • Extending CDA activity to DOD at CHS, 2009 • Initiated collaboration for combined CDA & TA demonstration at MIA

Arrival Domain, Tailored Arrival • Completed almost 300 TAs at SFO since January 2008; initial results promising • SFO TA procedures now average 12 per day • Planning a TA demonstration at MIA in September 2008 • Discussing TA interest with American Airlines and Air France • Initiated collaboration for combined TA & Oceanic demonstration at MIA
