  1. Nitrous Oxide Canisters Those selling nitrous oxide canisters are taking their business seriously. Some have devoted themselves to the hobby and treat it like their day job. James, an English teenager, sold nos at school parties and underground raves as well as at music festivals. He once earned PS20,000 in one weekend by bribing a festival bouncer and sneaking in tens of thousands of canisters. Other nos sellers confirm his earnings. A nitrous oxide canister is a small metal canister containing a dose of the chemical. It has several small holes drilled into the lid. The user then places the nang into the chamber and screws on the cap. The cap punctures the seal and releases the gas, which elicits a euphoric high lasting for between 30 seconds and a minute. Users have reported a sharp increase in drug abuse. In the UK, nitrous oxide canisters are sold in packs of twenty canisters and hundreds of balloons. The canisters are available at a wide range of prices, from online stores to everyday catering stores. A quick Google search will reveal thousands of sites selling the substance. They can be delivered to your door within a day or two if you order online. Alternatively, you can order a nitrous oxide canister for a specific amount of time. However, even though the government has banned the recreational use of nitrous oxide, it has failed to curb its use. The use of nitrous canisters is a visible and costly problem. With the government's cutbacks, the budgets of local councils to support litter control have been drastically cut. Despite its widespread popularity, there are few opportunities for recycling the canisters. This leaves many nightclubs without a suitable recycling solution for their canisters. However, despite its many legitimate uses, nitrous oxide is not entirely safe. It has been linked to vitamin B12 deficiency, which affects red blood cells and can lead to symptoms such as anaemia, numbness, and tinnitus. Moreover, pregnant women are advised not to consume nitrous oxide because it is considered to be a teratogen and foetotoxic. Although nitrous oxide poses a low risk of asphyxiation, it is important to remember that its effects are temporary and can be life-threatening. The cold gas is so cold that it can burn the throat and impair the heart rate. According to Dr Adam Winstock, founder of the Global Drug Survey, the number of deaths due to nitrous oxide is not high, but is remarkably low in comparison to the number of people who use the drug every year. While nitrous oxide canisters have been freely available for decades in the UK, some businesses have begun advertising the availability of these canisters on social media. A convenience store in Brisbane was recently prosecuted after selling 17 boxes of nitrous oxide canisters to a drunk man. While the retail market has largely remained unaffected, there are now a few online stores that advertise 24-hour delivery across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Cairns. One of these stores is Oz Nangs, which boasts that their staff are also located in Hobart. Despite the fact that they aren't regulated, the company has announced a competition where you can win 100 cream chargers. Just be careful though, as the terms and conditions of purchasing these canisters prohibit the use of them in any way other than their manufacturer's instructions.
