CHRISTMAS. IN POLAND. CHRISTMAS- TIME. Christmas is very specjal time. It is as early as the beginning of December that the ,,Christmas- time fever” begins. Christmas preparations start. Everybody cleans the windows and buys Cristmas decorations. There appear long queues in shops.

  2. CHRISTMAS- TIME Christmas is very specjal time. It is as early as the beginning of December that the ,,Christmas- time fever” begins. Christmas preparations start. Everybody cleans the windows and buys Cristmas decorations. There appear long queues in shops.

  3. CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS: • Eve dinner • Decorate Christmas tree • Hay under tablecloth • Sing Christmas carols • Exchange our best wishes • Read the Bible aloud • Bestow self presents, meet with Santa Claus • Share the wafer • Reminisce about previous Christmases

  4. TRADITION COURSES In the evening on 24th December we celebrate Cristmas Eve. All the familly sit comfortably down to a solemn meatless supper. The supper starts with soup. In my home this is always beetroot soup with ravioli. Later on we eat fried fish, carp in jelly and noodles with poppy seeds, and we drink prune compote. The traditional wiliaconsist oftwelve courses.

  7. SPECJAL TIME At midnight we go to church for a traditional midnight mass called pasterka. This is how our Christmas begins.
