  1. Cartoon Volcanoes Fold or divide your paper into four squares. Number them one to four on the front and five through eight on the back. In the first square create a cartoon character volcano. Give it a name. Have it brag about itself in the thought bubble In square number two show the volcano getting an x-ray. Label the magma chamber, pipe, vents and crater. In the thought bubbly have the doctor make a diagnosis of the x-ray. In square three show gas bubbles and pressure growing inside so it looks like its about to blow. Explain what is happening inside the volcano in the thought bubble. In square four show an eruption (either explosive or quiet.) Explain what happened in the thought bubble. In square five have it explain the different shapes of its family. They can be shield, composite or cinder cone. Explain how each formed in the thought bubbles. In square six show a sleeping volcano and label it dormant. In the thought bubble have it explain that is might still wake up and be dangerous. In square number seven show a dead volcano and label it extinct. In the thought bubble have it say goodbye. In square eight show a volcano labeled “1,000 years later”. Show the magma that cooled inside it. It may have become a volcanic neck or batholith. Explain the whole process in the thought bubble. Thought Bubble
