  1. The Book of James “There Is Only One Lawgiver” By Pastor Fee Soliven James 4:11-13 Wednesday Night April 17, 2013

  2.  11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

  3. 12 There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

  4. 13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit";

  5. 11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

  6. Romans 1:28-32 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters

  7. of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God,

  8. that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

  9. 2 Corinthians 12:20 20 For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there be contentions, jealousies,

  10. outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults;

  11. 1 Peter 2:1-3 1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all guile, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

  12. Exodus 20:16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

  13. Matthew 22:38-40 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

  14. Leviticus 19:18 "You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD"

  15. 12 There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

  16. Deuteronomy 32:39 'Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.

  17. 1 Samuel 2:6-8 6 "The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up. 7 The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. 8 He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar

  18. from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory.

  19. Psalm 75:6-7 6 For exaltation comes neither from the east Nor from the west or from the south. 7 But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.

  21. 1. God is in Control

  22. Psalm 46:1-3 1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

  23. 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.

  24. Matthew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble"

  28. Psalm 118:23-24 23 This was the LORD's doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

  29. 13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit";

  30. Proverbs 27:1 1 Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.
