    1. The C-Channel: A fully precast concrete flooring system that is structurally lighter & faster to install. Ideal for multi-storey buildings & car parks. An IBS, GBI & Green Technology Product. The Patent Rights of the C Channel belongs to CREAM, a subsidiary of CIDB which provided Research Funds for its research & development conducted by the School of Engineering & Information Technology, University Malaysia Sabah. Hijau Ganda Sdn Bhd collaborated with UMS on this research and holds Commercial Rights on its applications to the construction Industry

    2. Main Features of C-channel: In catering for the vast needs of housing in an ever-increasing population, the production of the precast floor panel has to be simple, efficient & cost effective without compromising its aesthetic, quality and performance values as required. Differing from conventional precast floor systems, the best possible structural behavior with no topping concrete is one of the main features of this C-channel.   Conventional normal weight concrete (NWC) under reinforced concrete conditions has been used to investigate the prototype precast floor panels of various spans such as 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 m. The C-channels being fully precast having a smaller cross section and lighter weight has proven to show the best structural performances compared to other precast sections. The C-channel is made with 1m width and various lengths. Its main features are as follows.   Reduction of Concrete, Embodied energy and Greenhouse gas emission ranges from 35.34 to 47.80% compared with conventional building floor slabs available today. Reduction of weight from 35.34 to 56.50% enhances logistics such as handling and transportation. This has a direct bearing on the reduction of the the structural weight of the building. Less structural weight, less foundation costs. It has a high safe load carrying capacity. It is a very cost effective product with simplicity in production. It claims better sound insulation properties whilst having service facilities. It also claims no water leaking/dripping effects. It does not need any topping concrete after final placement thus avoiding temporary propping. It is a structurally efficient and quality assured product. It is highly recommended as a “green product” for use in modern building as per IBS.   IP & Awards: MyIPO Patent file no.
