Triple Science • For the most able scientists (KS3 level 6a and above) • A fast track course with modules 1-6 taught in 6 week blocks rather than 8 week blocks with an additional 7th module containing advanced scientific ideas and concepts • Best possible preparation for A-Level Sciences • Examined throughout Years 10 and 11 GCSE Science B1, B2, B3 C1, C2, C3 P1, P2, P3 GCSE Additional Science B4, B5, B6 C4, C5, C6 P4, P5, P6 GCSE Biology B7 GCSE Chemistry C7 GCSE Physics P7

Triple Science • For each science students will have to complete the following assessments • 3 Exam papers (25% each) • Modules 1-3 (Jan Year 10) • Modules 4-6 (Jan Year 11) • Module 7 (June Year 11) • 1 Investigation carried out under controlled conditions (Beginning of Year 11) GCSE Science B1, B2, B3 C1, C2, C3 P1, P2, P3 GCSE Additional Science B4, B5, B6 C4, C5, C6 P4, P5, P6 GCSE Biology B7 GCSE Chemistry C7 GCSE Physics P7

Core and Additional Science • A course for the majority of students • Covers the skills required by a scientist and the scientific knowledge to be able to explain the world around us • Good preparation for A-Level Sciences • Core Science exams taken in Year 10 • Additional Science exams taken in Year 11 GCSE Science B1, B2, B3 C1, C2, C3 P1, P2, P3 GCSE Additional Science B4, B5, B6 C4, C5, C6 P4, P5, P6

Core Science 3 exam papers 25% each Data Analysis and Case Study Controlled Assessment (25%) All completed in Year 10 Additional Science 3 exam papers 25% each Investigation Controlled Assessment (25%) All completed in Year 11 Core and Additional Science For each of the science courses pupils will have to take the following assessments GCSE Science B1, B2, B3 C1, C2, C3 P1, P2, P3 GCSE Additional Science B4, B5, B6 C4, C5, C6 P4, P5, P6

Core and Applied Science • A course for some students • A course that develops scientific skills and shows how scientists use and apply their scientific skills. • Allows students to study Applied Science A-Level • Core science exams in Year 10 • Applied science exams in Year 11 GCSE Science B1, B2, B3 C1, C2, C3 P1, P2, P3 GCSE Applied Science A1 and A2

Core Science 3 exam papers 25% each Data Analysis and Case Study Controlled Assessment (25%) All completed in Year 10 Applied Science 2 exam papers 20% each 4 Standard Procedures, Work Related Report and Suitability Test Controlled Assessment (60%) All completed in Year 11 Core and Applied Science For each of the science courses pupils will have to take the following assessments GCSE Science B1, B2, B3 C1, C2, C3 P1, P2, P3 GCSE Applied Science A1 and A2

OCR Nationals • For a selection of students • This course allows pupils to develop scientific skills that are required by today’s employers and is suited to all different learning styles. • Assessment takes place continually throughout all lessons so high attendance is necessary • Does not lead to A-Level Science study

  10. EBac For students looking to achieve the EBac they must take the following options • Triple Science • Core and Additional Science The Applied Science routes and OCR Nationals are not currently recognised for EBac certifications

  11. After February Half-term • All students will study modules B1, C1 and P1 from the core science course. • They will start to prepare for the controlled assessments that will happen the following year.
