  2. Introduction An Fire Fighter Protects the public by responding to fires and other emergencies. They are the first to arrive on the scene of an accident. “When a man becomes a fireman his greatest act of bravery has been accomplished.  What he does after that is all in the line of work.” ~Edward F. Croker I selected this quote because I feel many people don’t become firefighters because they love to help others. Growing up as a child in Detroit you experience a lot of things a child shouldn’t. I have seen houses get burnt down day and night. Families where homeless and some even lost family. I believe me becoming a fireman is the best thing for me and others. Helping people that are down and stress satisfy my day. • I will be researching the life of a fireman. • I will give specific details about Firefighters careers. • Let everyone know how awesome Firemen are !

Nature of Work • Drives fire trucks and other emergency vehicles to emergencies • Put out fires using hoses and pumps • Treat victims’ injuries with emergency medical services • Prepare written reports on fire or emergency incidents • Clean and maintain equipment • Conduct drills and training in fire fighting techniques • Provide public education on fire safety • Find and rescue victims in burning buildings or in other emergency conditions

  4. Working Conditions Physical Outdoor • Hosing down houses from outside • Shift that sometime last for 24hours • When not on the scene of emergency firemen are at the fire station waiting to provide service

  9. Summary I love helping others out that explains why I chose this career. My feelings will never change about being a fireman. I believe this is my #1 goal in life. I look forward to being a fireman in Detroit, MI. I will love to be a fireman in the area of my family. I don’t look for the pay of the job but because its what I love to do. Making a change in my community, problems have to be solved. Loyalty to my job career put my all into what I do everyday. Improve on my people skills and build more courage. Hopefully if I do be able to become a fire fighter I will have a team of experience people that I can learn from.
