  1. Training Presentation For sales reps

  2. CONTENTS Ⅰ Characteristics & classification Ⅱ Structure & function Ⅲ History Ⅳ Line up Ⅴ Machine designation & code Ⅵ Attachments Ⅻ Developing Skills of selling

  3. What is a bulldozer Anecdote :Derivation of the word of bulldozer The word of bulldozer derives from the fact that bulls, which had been used for cultivation ,came to have time to doze after this machine appeared. At present, the word ‘bulldoze’ or ‘doze’means to push soil,as well as to sleep for a short time.

  4. Bulldozer (for digging & dozing) Dozer shovel (for loading)

  5. Classification of bulldozer Bulldozers Swamp bulldozers Direct Torque flow Hydro shift HST (Hydrostatic transmission) HMT(Hydro-mechanical transmission)

  6. Classification by track shoes Bulldozers Swamp bulldozers

  7. Swamp bulldozers Super swamp bulldozers (for extremely soft terrain)

  8. Classification by power transmission type Direct Torque flow Hydro shift HST (Hydrostatic transmission) HMT(Hydro-mechanical transmission)

  9. Direct drive Advantage Disadvantages • Gear shifting operation is complicated. • Engine stalls is overloaded. • Power transmission is interrupted when shifting gears. • Engine output fluctuates according to load. • Power transmission efficiency is high. BACK

  10. Torque flew drive Advantage Disadvantages • Gear shifting operation is easy. • Engine does not stall even if overload. • Less interruption of power transmission when shifting gears. • Power transmission efficiency is low. • More expensive than direct drive machine. BACK

  11. Hydro shift drive Advantage Disadvantages • Gear shifting operation is easy. • Power transmission efficiency is high. • Less interruption of power transmission when shifting gears. • engine stalls if overload. BACK

  12. HST (Hydrostatic transmission) Advantage Disadvantages • Gear shifting is not required. • Engine does not stall even if overload. • Power transmission is not interrupted due to the continuous speed control. • Maximum output range of engine can be always used. Power transmission efficiency is very low. BACK

  13. HMT(Hydro-mechanical transmission Advantage Disadvantages • Power transmission efficiency is high. • Gear shifting can be automated. • Engine does not stall even if overload. • Engine output is kept constant under any load. • More complicated structure than torque flew drive.

  14. Type of machine Lower limit of cone index kg/cm2 Swamp bulldozer 2~3 Bulldozer 4~6 Towed scraper 7~10 Motor scraper 10 Dump truck 12 Bulldozer & soil condition Necessary cone index for construction equipment

  15. ski

  16. Swamp bulldozer’s cone index is low cone index is high Because the length of track shoes and track on ground is long than standard.

  23. Main clutch

  24. Torque converter Rated by oil sent from the pump to transmit the torque to the output shaft. Change the oil flow direction to increase the torque. Drive with the engine.

  25. Transmission Planetary gear type transmission Direct transmission (sliding mesh type)

  26. Hydro shift transmission

  27. This form is used in SD08

  28. HMT(Hydro-mechanical transmission) This form is used in SD32C

  29. Bevel gear shaft and steering system How does a bulldozer make a turn? Change rotation speeds of right side and left side tracks from each other.

  30. Final drive This form is used in SD32C This form is used in all kinds of bulldozers except SD32C

  31. Undercarriage

  32. Crawler Lubricated track link

  33. Shoe Single grouser shoe Swamp shoe Applicable type of soil and work • General types of soil, except rock bed. • For swamp. Feature • Provides large drawbar pull required for angle dozers and straight dozers. • Designed for rugged operations. Has extra thick grouser for excellent resistance to wear and bend. • Has large shoes width for ground contact area. • Prevents soil from sticking to shoes for excellent traction.
