Introduction • Manhole cover is a removable plate forming the lid over the opening of a manhole. • It is also called maintenance hole cover. • It is designed to prevent anyone or anything from falling in, and to keep out unauthorized persons and material. • Manhole covers are often made out of cast iron, concrete or a combination of the two.

  3. Types of Manhole Covers As per BS EN 124:2015, three main types of Manhole Covers: Ductile Iron Manhole Cover Solid Top Manhole Cover Recessed or Screed Manhole Cover

  4. Ductile Iron Manhole Cover The most common type of Manhole Cover Solid & Reliable Highly Brittle in Nature Compared to cast iron cover, ductile iron cover is much stronger

  6. Recessed or Screed Manhole Cover Special Manhole Covers for decorative finish Provision to lay paving block or screed Mainly used in driveways or to hide manhole
