  2. Case study • Find an organisation or a company and analyse its daily management operation within the departments or interdepartments. Identify and describe: • the objective (goal) • the organisation hierarchy • the resources • the output • the process • any IS (tps/ mis / eis/ mss etc) ? • any supply-chain management? • how it increase its productivity / compete? • Your suggestions / evaluation

  3. Group project • Maximum = 7 in a group • Assessment: • Report on the Case Study = 15% • Presentation of the Organisation / Company = 10% • Submission date : 6 weeks from today date ( 11/1/07)

Simple Example • Company : FSKTM • Company organisation (chart) • Organisation : University • Nature of business: Academic, Services • Clients : Students • Employee : Academician (different levels), Management Staff & Technical Staff • Chain-Supply : Vendor, Other Departments, Central Mangement • Competitiors : Other IPTA & Private University / Colleges

  5. Objective: Teaching & training students, well (global/world/adavance) R&D • Resources (input): Students, books/references, IT (pc, network), research facilities • Process: teaching, registration, supervision, research • Output: graduation, alumni, report/statistic (ranking), publication

  6. IS : TPS, MIS, • Automation / Technology • User – friendly, Systematic • Evaluation : Survey, Report, Web • Weakness / improvement : Training/hands-on/practical facility; References; online-information, group/collaboration/ ‘clinic’ • Assessment : 80% - good / modern
