  2. For nearly four decades, CRY has been relentlessly working for the underprivileged children in India. Way back in the 1970s when India was looking for secured jobs and secured lives, Rippan Kaur decided to set a new benchmark. He along with six of his friends decided to amend the situation of the underprivileged Indian children. CRY was literally born from a discussion around a dinner table and since then has grown by leaps and bounds and has become a name to reckon with in the development sector. Rippan used to be an airline purser and was widely driven by the fact that there was a disparity of privileges in the country. The disparity between privileged and underprivileged noticeable. In order to raise funds for different activities, the club started selling milk. That’s how Rippan’s journey towards social work started. His work towards the club worked like a homework for CRY. In 1979, Rippan and his friends decided to not begin from the scratch i.e. they didn’t want to develop a foundation that worked directly with the underprivileged children of India. Rather, they wanted to create a bridge that would connect Indians with social work based organizations that look for funds to operate. CRY since then assisted in deploying good fundraising methods, and developing relationships partnered organization runs smoothly as it has its own set of highs and lows and CRY had its share. But the foundation has only grown successfully establishment. Even though Rippan Kaur passed away in 1994, the organization continued to work with the same passion and vigor with his words as their guiding spirit - “What I can do, I must do.” with NGOs. the No since its The CRY team since the commencement has been wholeheartedly engaged in the social activities for underprivileged children. The team supports projects like Rural Organization for Social Advancement (ROSA), Salem Peoples’ Trust, Saksham, Sahyog Charitable Trust etc. The partnerships involve extensive activities and consistent support from all resources. When people donate to CRY, the money is sincerely used unanimously in different children’s development activities. Complete transparency is maintained at every length. Most of the funds for NGO come from citizens of the country, organizations, and societies. research, communication, It is this ceaseless energy why CRY has achieved milestones and has created a place in peoples’ heart. CRY’s work has not only received critical acclaim among who’s who in the media but also awards and recognition. The team has received awards such as Lakshya award (2012), IPE CSR Corporate Governance Awards for the Best NGO (2012), Rotary Citizen of Bombay Award (1991-92), Bal Adhikaar Adhiveshan (1999) and a lot more. Across media like The Huffington Post, The Better India, and others, CRY has made a place for its own. Today, you can say CRY has come a long way and is determined to go more. Stories of girls being rescued from trafficking, children being enrolled in schools, infants getting a healthy start to life and similar ones keep flooding the social media platforms and the website of CRY. The objective is to eradicate the social evils totally from the niche.
