This period helps create the base for a life of good health, considerable achievements, and overall well-being. But when a child is deprived of these opportunities, and other related basic rights, they are pushed further away from reaching their full potential, strive for brilliance, or endeavour to realize their dreams. Following are some of the ways that impact young girls due to gender inequality which is still quite prevalent, especially in the rural and semi-urban belts of India. Young Girls Are Still Deprived of Education Due to Their Gender Illiteracy is more rampant among girls than in boys because cultural institutions still suggest that the quality of life of the girl child can be compromised. In many areas, societal tendencies dictate that the girl child not be distracted by activities like studying, socializing, playing, and basically aspiring for an independent life. Their lives are designed to be focused on household chores, taking care of the family, or the husband and his family, and then later the children. It is often believed that education

It must be noted that these numbers are a reality even though sex determination is outlawed in India. This is because it has been ingrained in every generation of youngsters that sons offer a pair of hands that can bring money and basic resources to the house whereas the daughters can take care of the in-house tasks. Also, while sons are seen as caretakers of parents during their old age, girls are seen as a burden who'd need to be given dowry during their wedding (dowry is also illegal in India but still deeply rooted and practised in innumerable communities in India). Such scenarios also compromise the health of the girl child, their basic rights, and restrict their development as well as achievements. They are seen as a secondary responsibility that does not have or require dreams to achieve.
