  2. What is a Staph Infection? Staphylococcus or Staph, is a type of bacteria that groups together in a cluster as show in the picture They cause infection on body tissue. This may cause damage to the skin, such as red boil looking bumps that can be large or small. Clusters of Basteria in green

  3. What does is look like? How does it feel? Reddish, swollen, tender area that look like small or large pimples Ooze pus or crusty covering with drainage Blisters and boils Swelling, tenderness Feels painful on infection and surrounding area Mild Staph Infection

  4. Why am I at risk? These infections are observed in people living intogether in close quarters, like college dorms or Sharing common areas such as, college dorm showers

  5. How can I get it? The staph infection can spread through skin contact when infected areas are touched The become infected though direct contact with the Bactria itself

  6. This will never happen to me But… It is really easy to get it: Say a friend has it on her leg and she sits on your bed, couch, or chair the infection is then on where she sat, then you can go and sit on it and BOOM! You now have the infection OR Somone using the same shower as you has it on the foot and you step where they step BOOM! You now have the infection

  7. How can I prevent this in my dorm? May sure you wash your bedsheets or change them once a week Clean with disinectant in your whole dorm once a week Wash your hands often

  8. How can I prevent this when I take a shower? Bring your own stuff into the bathroom in a clean caddy Wear sandles when you shower

  9. If I get it, what can I do? Go to the doctors right away! They will presribe an antibiotic Wash any area with infectoin with saline Drain the boil whenever possible by poking it with a sharp needle or popping it like a pimple

  10. So Remember CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and your in the CLEAR!
