  2. What is NEHS? Council Rock North’s National English Honors Society is a group made up of dedicated students to promote the advancement and integration of English-related activities in our community.

  3. What are the Characteristics of NEHS Members? NEHS’s motto is… “gelast sceal mid are” Which translates from Old English to mean… “duty goes with honor.” All NEHS members are expected to uphold our motto in anything they do.

  4. What are the Characteristics of NEHS Members? Responsible … as students and members of the community. This includes being responsible students, athletes, and participants in activities in and out of school. Additionally, NEHS members are held responsible for any actions and decisions they make. Reliable … and willing to put the time in required to be active members of this society. This includes participating fully in activities and promoting NEHS both in and out of school.

  5. What are the Characteristics of NEHS Members? Respectful … of school rules, teachers, staff members, and other students. NEHS members actively participate in the classroom environment and are respectful of those in their community. Dedicated … to helping promote all goals of NEHS and working their hardest to achieve anything that is asked of them.

  6. The NEHS Mission • confer distinction upon secondary school students for high achievement in English language and literature; • provide, through its local chapters, cultural stimulation in secondary school environments; • encourage interest in the English language arts; • promote exemplary character and good fellowship among its members; and • serve society by fostering literacy.

  11. Click the tab on the side menu bar that says “Membership Requirements AND Petition for Membership Materials.” Carefully read through both attached documents.
