All That You Need To Know About Cohiba Cigars Cohiba Cigars, beginning as diplomatic gifts proffered by the Cuban government upon visiting dignitaries, have now developed a cult status wherein every cigar lover now gravitates to the marquee brand. The Cuban brand was established in 1966 and only a limited number of cigars were produced exclusively for Fidel Castro. Gradually though in 1982 Cohiba began to be offered to cigar smokers globally, gaining worldwide popularity. Interesting Facts About Cohiba Cigars Cohiba is the most famous cigar brand due to two of the most celebrated cigar companies –Habanos S.A in Cuba, and Cohiba in the Dominican Republic –A US based Cigar Company.

The report says that a soldier who was said to be the cigar maker used to roll cigars for one of his friends and the friend was Mr. Fidel Castro’s bodyguard. So, he started sharing Cohiba cigars with Mr. Castro. He loved the flavor and taste and asked him to bring more. Initially, Mr. Castro used to preserve the Cohiba cigars for his own use, but later he started offering the cigars to heads of states and foreign visitors as a gift.
