  6. Innovations: Vision designed a highly successful automotive wheels/rim program for the automotive industry. There was a need to lower the unionized labor spend and reduce transportation costs. Vision went to work and designed a program to meet and surpass the need of our customer, it’s primary functions are as follows: • Receiving The Off Shore Product Physically And Into WMS • Storage • Inventory Control • ASN Advise • Picking And Packing • Transportation Directly To Dealers Across North America. • In Some Instances Repacking Is Also Required. In the first year, with the first car manufacture, customer savings were upwards of 40%. In order to introduce continuous improvement to the program; we added another 2 manufactures to this program, this reduced our cost, which was gain shared with our participating customers and an additional 10% Savings was achieved. This program has been operational for 5 years in our Belleville Ontario DC location.

  7. Sustainability Initiatives At Vision Transportation we believe that a sustainable business is dependent on economic vitality, social equity and a healthy natural environment. We do not see our goals as mutually exclusive, but inextricably linked. As business leaders we are committed to develop sustainable business practices that meet the needs of the present without compromising the welfare of future generations. We pledge to develop strategies that enable us to move toward sustainability while enhancing the value offered to our customers. Our Fleet is completely outfitted with trailer side skirts which can offer significant fuel savings, and they are recognized as a fuel-saving technology under the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWaySM program, which classifies trailer side skirts as being either a “trailer side skirt”, with savings of at least 4%, or an “advanced trailer skirt”, with savings of at least 5%.

Social Responsibility Initiatives Community involvement: Vision Transportation And Our Employees Have Deep Roots Within Our Community, We Sponsor A Number Of Different Youth Initiatives Including Sponsorship Of Several Sports Teams In The Area. Charitable initiatives: Vision’s Charitable Initiatives Are The Heart Of Our Company Culture; This Is Due To The Generosity And Stewardship Of Our Ownership. It Is Our Deem As A Company And The People That “The highest use of capital is not to make more money but to make money do more for the betterment of life.” — Henry Ford (1863 – 1947) Since 1995 Vision Transportation Has Donated Over 1 Million Dollars To Canadian Cancer. This Has Been Achieved By The Annual Donation Of 1% Of All Sales And A Yearly Fund Raising Golf Tournament.

  9. GPS Tractor Monitoring Our Trucks Are Furnished With Shaw Satellite Tracking Systems • As part of Visions Continuous Improvement Efforts we invested in the Shaw System for all of our fleet. This has allowed us intergradations through on-board computing technology and value-add wireless data solutions, we have seen additional benefits with the automated Hours of Service module of this technology. Our drivers are no longer required to fill out paper logs; it is all automatically recorded based on when the vehicle is in motion. We have been able to re-deploy resources since we have gone electronic. We no longer have to follow up with drivers on missing or incomplete paperwork and do not have to scan all the hard copies that come in. • In addition, our dispatch team is also more effective without having to call drivers and see how many hours they have available. We are able to proactively check drivers’ hours and dispatch accordingly. We are also able to coordinate with our customers more accurate ETA’s and ensure that our drivers are unloaded upon arrival.
