  2. ¿Por qué QS-9000, ISO 9000? QS-9000, 3rd. Ed. ...is the development of fundamental quality systems that provide for continuous improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. ISO/CD2 9001:2000 • This International Standard specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its capability to consistently provide conforming product and/or service. • The quality management system requirements are aimed primarily at achieving customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements through application of the system, the continual improvement of the system and the prevention of nonconformity.

  7. ISO/TS 16949 Introduction The goal of this Technical Specification is the development of fundamental quality systems that provide for continuous improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. This Technical Specification defines the fundamental quality system requirements of the subscribing companies. It is recognized that there may be company-specific, division-specific, commodity-specific, and/or part-specific requirements in addition to those given in Figure 1. This Technical Specification aligns existing automotive quality system requirements within the global automotive industry and avoids multiple certification audits.

  10. QS-9000 - Beneficios de la Certificación • 1998 AIAG/ASQ Quality Survey(N=207 US NAO suppliers). • Costo promedio para obtener el QS-9000 US$120,000 (US$40,000/año mantenimiento) preparación US$79,000 (costos internos) consultoría US$8,100 certificación US$20,000 (=17% del total) capacitación US$6,100 software US$3,000 • Beneficios de la certificación en QS-9000 es de un 6% de las ventas (promedio de US$130M.) o alrededor de US$8 millones/organización

  11. ISO/QS 9000 y un Producto de Calidad • Does Registration = Delivered Quality? • “Complying with ISO 9000 standard does not indicate that every product or service meets the customer requirements, only that the quality system is capable of meeting them”* • “This distinction is almost universally recognized by both ISO 9000 registered suppliers and their customer. But if a customer cannot depend upon receiving acceptable product from such a supplier, ISO 9000 registration would seem to provide little or no value.”* *León, Gto., Mayo 1999, Dan Reid
