A business enterprise today has multiple types of applications and one or more servers must be located in a physical location for each application. However, each physical server location, depending on what it is used for, may not have sufficient resources to accommodate the complexity of running multiple applications. The problem with having separate physical servers is that the virtual environment is different from the physical environment. The virtual environment needs to be designed to support the applications and to reduce the physical environment footprint. Most of the application developers are working on the web and in order to successfully build these applications they need the web servers to be located close to the users. Therefore, most web servers use the hardware to provide enough space for the whole application. In the past, the application developers and the web servers communicated regularly and they built applications over the internet and ran them on the internet, but today many of the applications are run on the internet and do not require the communication with the users. So, the size of the application varies from one to another. The need for the web servers to be located close to the users is one of the problems that needs to be solved. One option for solving this problem is to use cloud computing where the developers install the application on the cloud and use the database to connect the users to the data. However, it is very difficult to obtain the right size of the web servers that are required to meet the requirements of the web application and to have it online. Therefore, the cost of the web servers increases, and the maintenance become expensive. This becomes an important problem, as data is essential information and needs to be accessible at all times. Therefore, a part of the cloud computing is to move the servers to the cloud. The idea of moving the servers to the cloud was first raised by Hewlett Packard when it provided the management services to its customers to help them migrate their servers to the cloud. cloud vps Now, other companies such as Amazon and Google are doing the same thing. This is possible because there is a cloud service provided by Microsoft called Eucalyptus that handles the load and gives the right size for the virtual environment. This allows the application developers to develop and deploy applications using the Microsoft technologies and all the required resources, but to control the network so that the application will not run in the server of an unidentified vendor, one can use the services provided by Eucalyptus. There are other options as well, please consult with Dade2 for more information. The main problem with moving the servers to the cloud is that some of the major manufacturers of servers have decided that they do not want the business anymore. Microsoft has said that it will only support the devices that are compatible with its specifications and they have the final decision on what type of server to provide. Therefore, it is very difficult to find a provider that provides servers and can host the applications and they need to be customized for the business needs. The good news is that there are plenty of cloud services out there and one only needs to understand how to move the servers to the cloud to overcome the challenge. Reach out to Dade2 – more support, less effort for a consultation about the best options for your business today!
