  3. Make your marketing all about your customers • One of the most common mistakes that marketers make is putting themselves ahead of their customers. What you need to do is put your customers and their needs high on your priority list.

  4. Simplify… Simplify and Simplify! • Stick to the simple path as more often than not, it is the easiest way to meet your target. Complicating matter may delay your success and in some cases, could turn out to be a more taxing procedure.

  5. Be more HUMAN • We are habituated to being more mechanical as a result of which our emails, web – pages or newsletter have a certain ‘automated’ feel that lack personal touch. Since you are dealing with humans, try adding a bit of personal touch to your content. Taking this risk may actually get you better response from your end user.

  6. Don’t take yourself too seriously • In most cases, we tend to discuss issues with ourselves or at the most, discuss it with other marketers. It’s important to get off your chair and get in touch with your customers, sales team and get to know your CFO & CIO better. Most importantly, don’t wriggle out of this quoting the excuse of being an introvert. Knowing people around you will help you better understand your business, its needs and changes that you may need to implement.

  7. Focus more on results, less on tasks • Pay less attention to the number of projects & strategies and focus more on results. The outcome of all the promotions is far more important as they help in grading your success. To achieve this, increase your interactions with your finance, technology & sales team to get a better understating of the business metrics.
