Referenda Update • All the referenda passed • Class Pass Fee will renew as of August 15, 2013 • Fitness and Wellness Fee • Passed by a slim majority • Terms negotiated in MOU, on Wed. approved by ASUC Senate • https://ga.berkeley.edu/delegates/meeting/2013-05-02 for MOU • Charge filed Wednesday questioning the validity of the referenda • Pending Judicial Council decision to accept it or not

SHIP Updates • As of Wednesday, UC Berkeley, Riverside, UCSB, and Davis decided to leave UC SHIP medical • Some other campuses have opted out of portions • UC Berkeley in 2013-2014, effective August 15, 2013 • Medical will be Aetna • Benefits will be the same plus caps removed • Grad premium increase of 20%, undergraduate increase of 13% • Dental will be MetLife • Vision will be VSP • These are pending negotiations with carriers

Hiring Teams • Executive VC and Provost search • Job Duties • Responsible for all academic programs and policies • Deans hiring, tenure approvals, etc. • Professional Degree Programs • Creation and fee increases • Coordinates all other Vice Chancellors • If have recommendations, please send me your suggestions • LEAD Center Assistant Director for Student Organizations • See next page

Student Org Advising • LEAD Center restructuring staff • increasing number of staff that support graduate students and the GA • Graduate student and orgs and pubs will no longer go to Amanda for advising • Can still turn in funding/reimbursement forms to the GA’s Business Office • However, advising will be done by 7 LEAD Center Student Org Advisors • Each advisor focused on a different specialty (e.g. publications, cultural-based, recreational, etc.) • You organization can select a specialty advisor based on your group’s purpose and activities • This model is effective as of Fall 2013
