  2. What it is doing The SST MammoGateway is capturing analog examination parameters form the Mammo Machine (Pressure, Distance, kV, mAs, Orientation). This is done by simulating a label Printer (serial Interface). The mentioned data elements are being captured and merged into the corresponding DICOM image. By doing so corrections can be applied to the image if necessary. This puts examination parameters into the DICOM header of Images which is typically requested in screening applications. There are several solutions allowing for that functionality in the market. The SST Mammo Gateway solution is unique in terms of network functionality and allows for double shift workflow. This means that two operators can perform examinations in paralell. While one operator is reading plates on the CR Reader the other operator can do the next patient in the examination room.

The Parameter information can now be transferred to Gateway # 2 and the unit can be marked as ready for next patient. This means that operator #2 can start the next examination now. Parameter information and images are merged (and corrected if needed). The resulting images can be forwarded to the PACS The operator can carry the plates to the reader Appointment System Operator #1 is performing an examination Examination Parameters are transferred to Gateway # 1 Reader Gateway 1 Gateway 2
