Fact about employees sick days: • In 2006: 70 employees had 2002 sick days. • Average 28,6 sick days a year. • For 75 % of the 2002 days another substitute employees had to replace the employees = 1501 days. • Daytime 60 % of the sick days = 901 days. • Evening/night 40 % of the sick days = 600 days. (wage price 2006) = 604.095 kr. • Own substitution day time (20 %) = 180 shifts • Week days: 129 of 7,5 hours * 177 kr. (wage price 2006) = 171.248 kr. • Weekend: 51 of 7,5 hours * 247 kr. (wage price 2006) = 94.478 kr. • Substitution from bureau evening/night (90 %) = 540 shifts • Week days: 386 of 8 hours *321 kr. (wage price 2006) = 991.248 kr. • Weekend:154 of 8 hours *463 kr. Direct cost of 48 caring/sickness conversations • 3 persons participate in the conversation (around 1½ hour to make the sick statistics have the conversation and so on wage price for 3 persons 600 – 1000 kr. pr. hour = 129.600 – 216.000 kr. • Write minutes (around one hour for one person (wage 200 – 400 kr.) = 9.600 – 19.200 kr. • Paper, stamps and envelopes each time sending the “invitation and sending” the minutes = 1.152 kr.   8. 3. Direct cost of firing two employees • Average cost for firing two persons is four months wage: 150-170 days which need replacement average price of 2400 kr. A day = 360.000 – 408.000 kr. • Sickness benefit return to the organization: 4 months*2 workers minus 2*2 weeks with no sickness benefit return max price (2006) 3500 kr./week = 84.000 kr. • Advertising: On the internet or in magazines x 2 for new employees = 3.500 – 50.000 kr. • Training/education of 2 new workers 15 days of 2400 kr. = 36.000 kr. • Cost of firing two workers = 315.500 – 410.000 kr.
