  1. Mr. Perry…what’s behind the curtain? Statistics: Born in Bryan, Texas (moved to Michigan when I was almost 4 for dad’s job) Raised in Haslett, MI, a fairly small lower-middle class suburb of Lansing (pop. 12,000) Mom’s a retired teacher and dad’s a professor at MSU 1 brother, Drew, an MSU grad. and an award winning winemaker in Traverse City, MI. I have been married to Stephanie for 10 years, who was the Culture and Climate Coach at Maple Street (same job as Mrs. Misner) for the past 3 years and now one of the 2 counselors at Linden Grove. We have 2 daughters, Brynnlee, who is almost 6 ½ and just started 1st Grade at King-Westwood Elementary; and Ella Mae, who is our adorable little 8 month-old. I am beginning my 13th year of teaching. (1 in Detroit, 7 in Saginaw, and 4 at Milwood so far)

Statistics continued… • I have 2 nieces and 3 nephews whom I adore. • I am a “jack of all trades and master of none” (except golf) • I played varsity football, basketball, soccer, and baseball in high school • I was drafted in the 6th round of the MLB draft by the Milwaukee Brewers as a pitcher when I was 18 and did not sign. • I went to Michigan State on a half scholarship for baseball and also played soccer for the school as well. • I was a a Golden Gloves boxing champion in 4 different weight classes from the ages of 7-17. • I sing, play guitar and piano and was first a Vocal Music Major in college.

  3. Statistics continued… • I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University (CMU) and my majors were Social Studies and Science. (3.17 GPA) • I am currently 2/3 of the way through with my Master’s Degree at the University of Michigan-Flint. (6 classes of 9 done) • My interests are: reading, writing, playing every sport but golf, hiking/backpacking/mountain climbing, exercise, watching movies and sports, traveling, and most of all spending time with my family. • I barely graduated high school with a 1.2 GPA
