Final Movements • Ark is moved from tabernacle to Solomon’s temple 1 Kings 8:6, 13 • Last mention in Old Testament history is during rule of Josiah 2 Chr. 35:1-3 • Was it taken by the Egyptians who killed Josiah? • Was it taken by the Babylonians in 586 B.C.? • Was it hidden in a secret tunnel below the temple? • Ark was never in rebuilt temple of Zerubbabel or the remodeled temple of Herod Jer. 3:16

Ark Applications • Commands for moving were specific • unknown by some (Philistines) • forgotten by others (David) • The ark was not God (could not be manipulated into providing a victory, taken prisoner) • Few seemed bothered by its separation • Eli, daughter-in-law 1 Sam. 4:18-22 • David wanted ark in Jerusalem • God communicates through the Bible today
